Race To Save Classic Radio

Yes, but commercials are part of the entertainment. Always have been
-- and before we had thousands of other media outlets - they provided
quite a bit of important information on products that people actually
wanted - and needed to find good prices on. Many of the stations
around here still play commercial free hours. And many do not let
advertising intrude on their programming. Though Advertising HAS to be
part of the programming. With subscription radio, I suppose that could
change BUT we still have television commercials even after the advent
of cable and satellite and those corporations are still surviving. If
you don't like listening to the commercials -- just change the station
-- just like you do with the remote on the TV.

Get rid of or at least cut the amount of commercials in half and it's
saved. Simple as that. I switched to sat radio due to commercials. TV is
****ing me off too as are the newspaper ads.....

Question is, how long will it be before the vast majority of the sheeple
will come to believe that the commericials ARE the entertainment. MADison
Avenue has been working hard to blur the line for decades, what with half
hour commercials for toys thinly disguised as cartoons.. and a recent
episode of a sitcom that's a half hour commercial for Chili's.
