regarding degital gain.
Dear All,
I want to apply the gains (increasing volume) on encoded signal(digital signal that means after capturing speech from mic). for this I am taking each sample and then multiplied that with required gain factor.During this process if the sample value exceeds the 16 bit range(the data format that i consider is 16 bit mono 8 kHz) clipping takes place. Due to this clipping distortin occurs. Is there any other approch to apply the gains on digital signal without any distortion. And also any approch for avoiding distortion. Thanks in Advance.
