Thanks for sharing your review; I linked to it. Are you familiar with the Sangean/C.Crane versacorder? It's a cassette-based recorder that supports scheduling the recordings. I don't have one, but it would be interesting to hear how the experience compares between the 1121 and the versacorder.

Thanks, I'd forgotten about the versacorder. Since it uses cassettes,
it wouldn't serve my needs as well. Archiving mp3s is a snap, and I
like to load up my iPod with mp3 boradcast recordings to listen to on
trips. However, I suspect that the versacorder would probably be a lot
easier to use.

Pardon me, is the "Sangean/C.Crane versacorder" equivalent to the
"Sangean ATS 818 ACS" ?

Thx

Actually, the versacorder seems to be just a voice activated cassette
deck that will hook up to any radio:
http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/misc/4529.html

I seem to remember a cassette based recorder that C. Crane sold with an
integrated AM radio. The tape ran so slowly you could record 12 hrs
(?) on a single cassette. It's been a long time and my memory is fuzzy.

That Freq.txt is a double edged sword. While it may be despised by
techniphobes, it has alot of potential.

A) Someone can write a pretty easy [the devil may be in the details]
program to grab the frequencies of the stations they enjoy listening to
and automatically create memories from quarterly text based schedules
available online.

B) As you just did, people can share freq.txt files so that other
people can 'program' their radio, without even tracking down
frequencies.

Actually, after re-reading it, I see you actually mention "B" in your
review!
