RFI on longwave

For the first time ever, I've heard a longwave broadcast station!
Radio France International on 162 kHz coming in faintly but enough to
tell it's French at 1:15 AM EST in central Pennsylvania. I'm using a
WinRadio G313e fed by an LF-800 active antenna on a 10-foot pole in
the backyard. I was hoping this setup would get me some longwave
broadcasts this winter because it gets more beacons than I can keep
track of.

Good catch. They're not coming in now, 9:32 p.m. EST, 0232 UTC, in
northern VA, DX-398 with the built-in whip. I'll give them another try
later.

I've heard RFI on the LW too, but I was in Ireland at the time. I was
hitchhiking, and the driver was listening to it on the car radio.
