Help ID Asian Station on 14.500 MHz AM

G'day All,

Hoping or some input on a station that I heard a few times on 14.500 MHz
AM at sig 57 here in Canberra Australia. Its currently Tuesday 1041 UTC
and I've been listening for past 30 mins. The station is constantly
playing Asian Instrumental Music is the best way to describe it.

My Passport to World Band Radio book obviously does not have it listed
as its truly out of allocated SWBC Bands.

Anyone have any input ?

Regards
Mark

PS Please forgive me if this is not he correct newsgroup to post this.
If its not could someone please tell me. Also is there a better
newsgroup / blog web site for posting these stations thats has fairly
active audience for talking to and discussing ?

I believe it's the "Firedrake" jammer used by the Chinese to jam broadcasts they
don't particularly like, most likely Sound of Hope out of Taiwan.

Evening dxAce,

Thanks for your response. Cool a Jammer hmmmm, but if its jamming
shouldn't I have heard interference both stations ? this one is clear as
a bell and relaxing to listen to :)

BTW the Station just signed off with no ID at 1059 UTC

Keep listening. In my experience, the jammer often takes about a 5 minute break at the
top of the hour.

In many reported instances, Sound of Hope is not heard on the frequency. Whether they
are there or not the jammers continue on.

dxAce,

You're dead right, 1105utc started up again, however no station ID upon
continuation :(

And just to clarify you last statement, "They continue to broadcast,
regardless if the station they are trying to jam is actually active. "?
