Ron Baker, Pluralitas! February 4th 07 09:32 AM

CW "Letters Station"?

5947 kHz, 2007/02/04 09:20 UTC
s6 in southern California.
A religious broadcaster nearly makes it somewhat
difficult to copy.
CW sending five letter groups like:
AIWNM RDART NDAMM ITIAW WURGR AIURN
WMRDU IGNNI GNIDT RIIRR IUTRR AWWTA TGWUI
DTGUD MNIDA

Letters correspond with numbers? Because there
are only 10 different letters. ADGIMNRTUW.

It's interesting. CW numbers would seem contrary to
the supposed low-tech advantage of number stations.
To copy CW numbers the person receiving either has
to have the skill to copy CW (cut numbers at least) or
has to have somewhat special equipment (computer
and appropriate software).

I've got something, just a carrier on 8097 @19:41 UTC that's giving me up
to a 40/9.

M8 stopped at about 1936 or so.

Might wish to try 7887 at 2000. V2a, one of the Cuban voice numbers stations
just might fire up.
