Just, don't buy the Tecsun/Eton/Grundig S350 - it is a cheap, plastic-
boxed piece-of-****, or any radio that smells of the S350 (I mean
that, literally - it has a cheap, imitation-leather, smelly handle) !

mentions buying a radio. * Tecsun/Eton?Grundig radios are just fine - I

Sonys are the only decent SW radio - ignore this guy. You will be
sorry, if you purchase the S350 - severe tuning-backlash, single-
conversion superhet with bunches of images and birdies, no memories,
filters that do nothing but muffle the audio, very cheap plastic case
and switches, plastic speaker grill, smelly handle, and no SSB or sync/
det. Get the Sony 7600GR, for a few bucks more.

But you must admit, the S350 is kind of cheesy and flimsy. No comparison to
the E5/G5. So not all Eton/Grundigs are created equal.

Of course - it's the low end model. What do you expect?

I've got 2 - a Grundig and a Tecsun. Those looking for a great DX
machine can look elsewhere. But for a good all-around radio - great
AM, great FM and better than average SW - it's a classic AFAIC.

I was a big fan of my old DE1103 before I sold it and I would put that
$50 radio up against the S350 with absolute confidence, on a side-by-
side test my Degen was even more sensitive than my Sony SW55. Mind you
I still reckon the OP would be wise to follow the good advice on this
thread and consider the 7600.

Yes, the S350 is total crap, but the Degen 1103, can be had for $65,
including shipping - the Degen 1103 is basically, the same radio, as
the over-priced E5/G5.

My $10 Sony ICF-S10MK2 hand-held radio, gets the same stations, as my
now-returned, cheesy S350.

I admit to nothing (except that time when I was at bianca.com and I
pretended I was a fifteen year old girl and I wanted to have sex with
