There isn't anything wrong with cheap shortwave radios.If you lose one
or if it gets damaged somehow,you aren't out much money.

Hey, that is why I posted it. Why spend BIG dollars, I got a little
Grundig 300 PE, works great, $30.00 USD at your local radio shack. This
little rig has become a fav of mine. Fits into a shirt pocket, always
with me and covers most of the important bands.

But hey, those $10.00 buck rigs can let ya know if you really wanna
bother with SW or not, and at $10 bucks it ain't no biggie ... I suspect
some of them probably perform as good as some $100+ rigs ...

That was about the kind of set I first received shortwave on, so you may
be right there.

Nah... TANSTAAFL. (I have, however, sighted a 4-element ceramic filter
on an inside photos of one cheapie model - the internals didn't look too
neatly soldered though.)
