No, the FCC approved HD as the only system, and rejected petitions to reconsider from others. The marketplace will now decide how fast the receivers sell and how HD is used. The fact is that projections look extremely good and will ahead of the initial estimates or goals from the June 2006 launch. |

ROTFLMAO! Actually, it is a SF Bay area local newspaper - don't worry, it is getting national exposure ! ;-) It is a weekly "Alternative " newspaper, not a mass circulation daily. It´s like the LA Weekly. "Alternative" is the keyword. It is jammed with personals, classfied ads for massage (yeah, right) and escorts and features at least one medical marijuana article a week. It's one of these "Free - Take One" things you see on street stands. Two of this week's featured articles are "Raising a Pagan" and "Do You Have That Kryptonite Pussy?" It is not the Chronicle. |

Isn't that what I said ? :-) So far, the marketplace has decided, with few HD Radios sold, and no doubt, many returned for lousy reception and poor HD channel programming. Project all you want, but exciting technologies don't have to be pushed onto consumers with a $500,000,000 ad campaign. You know, as well as I do, consumers will never be interested - consumers are interested in gaming-systems, cell phones, Satellite Radio, and the Internet. No one listens with HD radios ! |

Nothing like, anti-HD Radio momemtum - more than HD Radio is getting ! LOL !!! |

Thank you for posting. The article shows that there is going to be scant objection to HD at night on AM. It is the only source of radio for a lot of people in the suburbs. They will lose most of their choices. I cannot receive any talk radio except via DX from SFO or Sacramento or Reno or Las Vegas. |

wrote in message oups.com... Your are welcome, Eduardo - who cares about what the FCC thinks. Now, the general public, including all of those news/talk/sports listeners, will know the truth about HD/IBOC. AM-HD will drive all of those listeners to XM/Sirius, to abaondon AM altogether, and not to HD Radio. This is nothing but more bad press for HD Radio, just like the East Bay Express article: - I thought the East Bay Express was where you found - out about medical marijuana and the massage parlors.
