"RHF" wrote IIRC - The EU has set 'new' Consumer Electronic Standards within the last couple of Years which many older Radios and Receivers do-not-pass and this is the reason for the exculsion of several formerly 'qualified' Products : This applies to the ICOM IR-75 Receiver and many others which were not designed and built within the last coupe of Years. ~ RHF - Do those "standards" pertain to evironmental issues - and have nothing to do with perfomance? . HD Radio¹ - Could be -but- . . . If you can't sell it - You Can't Sell It ! ~ RHF . ? What Evironmental Issue is involved in a Shortwave Receiver ? . YIK - RFI/EMF {Environmental Polution} Technical Standards are 'separate' from the Receiver's Performance Standards as a Radio. . DYK - Shortwave Radios -are- Harmful to the Environment Yeah That's Right ! - They Suck RF Energy out of the Air and cause Global Warming ![]() ![]() . Celfone Text Messaging (TM) Lingo : DYK = Did You Know YIK = Yes I Know -or- NIDN = No I Did Not and yes i know it is spelled cellular phone (telephone) and not celfone -while- keying all in lower case. . FWIW - Try buying a Bottle of Beer in the State of California with the words "CA Cash Refund" Printed on it. -You Can't- ?WHY? cause the State of California requires the words "CA Cash Refund" to be in All Capital Letters "CA CASH REFUND" -but- the Beer in-side the Bottle is just the same. . . .. . |
