The one on 25990 as heard here seems to be a 'K' call, relaying an FM freq, but
havn't had it stay in good enough at ID time yet.

Hi Ace,

I think I heard the 25990 ID as KSCS 96.3. That would be Arlington TX
10 meters is pretty much wide open down that way too.

Yeah, I think that's what I got here, seems every ID time, it'd fade just a bit
and I couldn't quite get all the letters properly.

As of 1330 the STLs are gone although 10 and 11 meters still booming in here
in NS.

Good Listening...

25990 KSCS Texas readable, occasionally fading out,
at 19:22 utc in southern California.
I'm not getting any of the others.

Interesting. I hadn't heard or heard of these things
before.
There must not be lot of HF STLs.

I remember finding these quite by accident years ago. I tried a web search
to find out more and am surprised to find there is almost no mention of
them. (unless I'm using wrong search criteria)

STL = Studio-Transmitter Link
These things were never meant to be heard except by a receiver located at
the transmitter site.

Broadcast Auxilliary Service stations are usually not STLs. Since the
FCC mandated obscenity delays took over, some News Talkers now
require a non-delayed foldback channel to cue the field reporters
live, over the air, as it were. I think most of the 26 mHz stuff is
techically licensed for Inter City Relay.
