Even though components in the amplifier would probably last longer
running cooler, I've decided to wait on installing a fan until I have
a better understanding of how hot it will run and can justify all the
trouble of installing one. This also gives me more time to think up
some way to wire up a thermostat controller.

Two points, first just how does the BBC or a utility station sound
through
your system? I found the quality of the typical SW audio chain is
pretty
nasty. I just don't see the point of being able to reproduce near sub-
harmonics
for speech intelligibility.
