Look at the total with shipping. If you get $10 more from Amazon you
seem to get free shipping.

What is the total band coverage? Is it likely to be sold on domestic
shortwave stations or are they out of its frequency range?

With a radio in this price range, having digital readout might be
something of a disadvantage due to noise. However, it might make a
better gift to a newbie than the $10 Bell & Howell if that's still
around since it is easier to tune.

Well, the tuning is analog -- it's just a digital display that takes
the place of a normal dial and pointer.
Do these digital frequency displays really add any more noise? They're
not really a vital part of the whole tuning system, I don't think (in
other words, you could cut out the LCD and the tuner would still work
properly).

I own a lot of old off the wall brand names of shortwave radios I bought
dirt cheap at thrift stores and junk shops.some of them are really good
at DXing.

$4 or $5 more will get you the cx-768.

I don't know anything about these radios, except at that price, and an
alligator clip hooking the whip to a long wire, you should get some SW
stations, and for as cheap as you possibly can ...

Do we have to read a review to guess that? You get what you pay for.
If you plan on buying a $15.00 dollar radio and have it preform as well
as KW-buck one, think again ...

However, if you have $15.00 bucks to test the waters before you spend
big bucks and end up with a door stop, this might be for you.

Heck, most SW/AM/FM stations worth listening to have a live stream on
the net, that is virtually $000.0 bucks!
