Even without BPL, the noise level on my Kenwood R5000 with a 20 meter random wire antenna is already at S9. It's not local, at night on 14mHz, the noise is around S3. As the day progresses and signals come in from North America, so does the noise. :-( Are you *sure* the noise isn't local or are you just surmising this from its tendency to coincide with signals from North America? |
