Sure, 900+ for the R7, probably 900 for the RV75 and then, very rare is the adapter that enables the RV75 to be used with the R7/A and one has a sweet set-up. It's still a dated design that now contains 30 year old electronics. The R7/A is still a primo dx machine. dxAce Michigan USA Drake R7, R8, R8A and R8B Don't do business with the Huntington Investment Company.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - It may be a nice receiver, but a radio that requires a external VFO equal in price to the radio itself seems like a poor deal if chasing dx stations is ones goal. |

It should be noted that the winning Bidder placed three Bids : One for $2K and two more for $2K+ and $2K++ neither of which were exceeded. Must be a real Drake Radio Collector. |

Personally, I'd rather have a 1A. Had 5 or 6 of them. Used to drool over them as a kid. How'd they work? Quite nicely. Interesting design that always reminds me of a mailbox. The ones I had went to Japan with one exception, and that one went to Sindre Torp, 'The Drake Collector' in Norway. There is currently a 1A up on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Drake-1A-Receiver-with-Original-Manual_W0QQitemZ250157905569QQihZ015QQcategoryZ467 3QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem dxAce Michigan USA Don't do business with the Huntington Investment Company. |
