Digital TV is going to be a disaster just as with digtal radio - take
a look at all the dropouts will digital cellphones. Just image, your
new, wonderful digital TV goes blank, instead of just fading - digit
radio and TV are a farce!

David,

But in-fact the "HD" in HDTV does
stand for something 'High Definition'.

While the the "HD" in HD-Radio
actually stands for Nothing :
Well May Be 'Highly Doubtful' ;-{

Do you have a digital tv? I do, and reception is OUTSTANDING. NO
dropouts on stations within 60 miles or so. And morning and evening
reception (depending on weather - same as analog tv reception) from
180 miles away is absolutely perfect. In fact, I get digital stations
loud and clear that I can't even get on analog!

Some stations are not yet broadcasting full power on digital which may
cause problems for those in the fringe reception areas, but once they
are using full power, reception should be consistantly excellent.

No more snowy picture for me.

Yeah, digital radio is pretty stupid, but I have to agree on this one
- HD TV signals really do look quite amazing on an HD TV, and even if
you think that it won't be great on regular broadcast (and it actually
is), most folks are using cable these days anyway. Turner Classic
Movies and my favorite silent films have never looked better (at least
on the tube).

I'll keep using my old TV until it breaks down, but once it does, I
will be happy to get a new fancy digital TV set :-)

When it all goes HD, I will look for a converter that will change it
from HD back to Analog signal, at least for my tv set anyway.I hope all
Hell breaks out in Feburary 2009 because a lot of people will be getting
their new HDTV sets and cases of Henikens at the ''discount
stores''.They will be trading their fed govt subsidized HD converter
coupons for drugs and dope and sex.And every bit of it will be fed govts
fault.I can just see it now.
Heee Heee Heeeeeee,,,,,,,
