Time of Reckoning Nears for HD Radio

"Time of Reckoning Nears for HD Radio"

"With a Stalled Rollout and Little Support From the Big Three, Are
Industry Insiders Starting to Doubt HD? The HD rollout seems to have
gotten caught in a bit of a Catch-22. With every passing month, I'm
sensing a larger number of industry insiders growing more apprehensive
about the rollout and whether HD-R technology can or will ultimately
succeed."

PR,

Hear some {many?} negatives about AM/MW "HD" Radio.

=BUT= FM "HD" Radio is tracking along far better than
FM Radio did during the adoption of FM Radio as an
'equal' Broadcast Media to AM/MW Radio. And it is
ahead of FM "Stereo" Radio as an upgrade/replacement
for 'Mono' FM Radio Broadcasting.

Again "HD" Radio will be successful as an FM 'Digital'
Broadcast Media because it "Fits" the FM Band Plan.

The story of "HD" Radio and the AM/MW Radio Band
will be sadly written and printed Section 'B' Page '9'
some many years into the future. {Obits}

The Key Marketing Tool for Over-the-Air Radio
Broadcasters is "Co-Branding" :
* Having an Over-the-Air Radio Station that is 'popular'
with the 20-Something Age Group of Radio Listeners.
* Having a WebSite with Streaming Audio of the
Over-the-Air Radio Station for the 20-Something Age
Group to also Listen-in-On.
* Creating Co-Brand Listener "Loyalty" for Both.
- - - Marrying Old Media to New Media to the present
"Now Generation".

like i read it some where dude ~ RHF

You make the false assumption that the climate today is that of the
1960's/1970's - there are far more choices for consumers, such as
Sync, Satellite Radio, cell phone Internet Radio and music streaming
such as Sprint's Pandora - now, Sync make it seamless to stream such
music services effortlessly in-dash. HD Radio is yesterday's
technology, hence the total lack of interest by consumers.
