AFN signal in and out

For the last few days, the AFN on 7.811MHz has been suffering from
'holes'
in their audio. It goes fine for up to maybe 30 seconds, then has ~5
seconds
of silence. Do they monitor their own signal?

The first day I wasn't concerned, but this has been going on long
enough that
I am convinced the folks running the show don't have a clue.

Heck, most of the pirates do a better job these days.

If it's anything at all like AFN-Korea, they don't monitor the signals, nor
even pay any attention to complaints about the signal. Over the past few
days, our local AM outlet seems to be running at fractional power (and they
only run 1KW to start with). Here at my place, barely 2 miles from the
tower, the signal was very weak and noisy. Normally, it's quite strong and
quiet.

No, it was not correct. Note also that Diego Garcia is now on 12759, not 12579.

I'm currently listening on 7811 at 1230 and notice numerous brief 'holes' in
their audio.
