Going to live

Yup, I'm going to live a little longer.

NAFLD: (Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease)

I caught it early and maybe I can reverse it by losing
weight/inches in the waist. I am going to try to lose 2 to 5 pounds a month
until I get my waist down. Legs and shoulders are not fat, very big but not
fat.

Kidney Stones:

They are small and we are going to dissolve them are if they
pass I may not even feel them. Caught them in time also. I also have to
drink 2.5 to 3 liters of water a day.

Time in the gym/bike:

I'll go back Monday and go light for a few days as well as
riding, easy does it. I still have some pain until the stones are gone and
the liver starts to repair itself. I think all livers have some fat and all
diabetics who have lived a few years are going to have a little fat around
their liver.

The doctor feels that the big sharp pain that comes and goes is
a muscle pain; I think I caused it while dead lifting.

Now, I am going to do everything the doctor told me to, when and
right. Remember, DO OR DIE!

To actually bring some shortwave content into this thread, (Maybe somebody
should create alt.fan.burr), The Health Report on Radio Australia did
a repeat of their interview with an endocrinologist about the obesity
epidemic and metabolic syndrome a week or two ago. (Podcast and
transcript at http://www.abc.net.au/rn/, link to Health Report).

The most memorable quote was "Fructose is alcohol without the buzz".
In other words, if you dump a big load of fruit juice/table sugar/high
fructose corn syrup (or booze), the liver has to switch over to dealing
with fructose (or ethanol) because the body can't use it directly.
Overload. Not a good thing.

These two problems are greatly influenced by diet. No alcohol for you
even if you have not consumed much in the past. You will have to watch
the protein, carbohydrate, fat, and sugar to calorie balance. Chances
are you have been eating more protein to fight the diabetes problem.

You need to see a nutritionist for a custom diet. Good luck.

Thanks Telamon,
Yes I'm seeing a nutritionist the first of the year.

I think a lot of my problem is I need to do "push-backs" from the table.
I'm eating right I just eat to-much.

I'll be back in the gym tomorrow and on my bike Tuesdays, the stuff the
doctor gave and told me is making me feel a lot better.

Merry Christmas,

Burr
