Very long time CBC AM radio station CBU 690 khz is leaving the AM band in
favour of FM.

Apparently their 50kw transmitter atop Mount Seymour is having difficulty
reaching the City of Vancouver. CBU can be heard in a very wide area in
southwestern British Columbia and the Northwest Washington State without
difficulty. Further this station hosts a sw station CKZU @ 6160 Khz. No word
on what will happen to the sw broadcast.
