Sure it does! It's for sale at auction.

Is the seller getting money for it? Yes.

When the hammer is dropped does the auctioneer often times say 'Sold!"? Yes.

Therefore a sale has been made.

I rest my case.

And "tube" doesn't automatically mean it sounds good.

The 'Item' is being "Sold" at Auction.

The 'Item' is being "Placed" at Auction.

Each is understood to mean the 'Item is : "For Sale"

They also fought against lowering the speed of phonograph records from
78.66 RPM to 33.33 RPM.

My definition of audiophile is someone who spent so much money on
hardware he can't really enjoy the tunes.

the best sounding stereo I own, cost me $10- it was built in 1965, and
is a single ended tube design- dual monoblocks- in an Akai reel to
reel, model M8

it sounds better than my modern digital Technics solid state rack
system

even a "cheap" stereo tube set, sounds better than solid state- tubes
color the sound- solid state music has no soul

That's absurd. Perhaps true 40 or 50 years ago.
