Data mode heard on 3132khz
Hi,
I'm trying to identify a data transmission I keep hearing on 3132khz. According to the FCC frequency allocation chart 3132 khz belongs to aviation. Does aviation use data for transmission? I'm only aware of ACARS, and thats in the 130Mhz range. Has anyone heard anything in the 3mhz range? I've recorded a minute worth of the sound, if anyone is interesting in hearing it (perhaps someone can identify the mode) email me back and I will send them the file. It's about 800kb. I was searching on other newsgroups and came across a German poster who also heard a data transmission on 3132khz and was trying to identify it. This post is 7 years old. Please send me the audio clip; unmunge the From address. Regards, Michael |

I sent it to your e-mail. Thanks for trying.
What's interesting is that the transmission has been active for two days straight now. Definitely would be interesting to find out what this might be. I'm listening from Northern NJ. I last heard the transmission 1/21/08 at 8PM EST. Let me know if you would like a larger more recent sound sample. -Felix On Jan 22, 1:05 pm, msg wrote: Felix wrote: Hi, I'm trying to identify a data transmission I keep hearing on 3132khz. Seems to me to be the same mode as heard on 10426.5 (see previous threads on this N.G. -- try tuning this signal and comparing. Likely NATO KG84/STANAG 4481. Regards, Michael |

I hear a very faint almost inaudible (over the interference) data mode
on 10426.5 so I can't compare. The signal on 3132 is very strong tonight. You might be able to hear it a lot better. -Felix On Jan 22, 2:52 pm, msg wrote: Felix wrote: I sent it to your e-mail. S9 here in No. MN tonight on 3132; it is the signal I described in my previous post: Likely NATO KG84/STANAG 4481. Regards, Michael |
