Well, Sony's sync is done by a chip meant to be made for AM stereo.

There are not much brands doing sync detection in portable radio's??

User - Yes that is True -but- Most SDRs are designed to work
with a Home Computer or a Lap Top Computer so in general
would be consider "Deck Top" Receivers {SDR Radios}.
