I am not sure where my post went, so I am redoing this update. I e-mailed
Palstar the completed PC board design yesterday, so I should have some
prototype boards in the next couple of weeks or so.
I received the 5/8 inch diameter ferrites yesterday and woulnd up a LW and a
MW loopstick. They work better than anything I have seen so far.
In addition to that, the LW loopstick tunes from 90kHz to 580kHz, while the
MW loopstick tunes from 410kHz to 2500kHz.
I am very excited about this design!

Pete

The NSA was holding your post due to possible national security issues.

Hi Pete.

saw your post on the Palstar group. can't wait. i'll
be inline with the rest. i may not be first, but i hope
to be in the top 5. any idea when this will be released?

It must be even better than I thought! Paul liked the board layout, so he
will be sending out for prototype boards this weekend.

Paul wants to have it ready for Dayton. I am not sure when full scale
production will start. Right now, I am working out the details of the
antenna enclosure. Should this antenna be tiltable? I never use that
function, but it seems as if many folks do.

Question - Should this Ferrite Rod Antenna be "Tiltable" ?

There is still a fair amount of work on this one, but maybe in the future, I
can send out a prototype. I think I am going to take a look at some
regeneration circuits. I think the optical coupler approach might work.

Thanks for the info..........it looks like this might be a good approach.
Features are always easier to implement in the early stages of the design. I
am going to take a look at some regeneration circuits.........this might
also be a good thing. The next thing will be the tropical band
loopstick.................

Why would they do that, Alkie?
