Default HD Radio won't have time to evolve

HD radio doesn't have the luxury of 30 years to evolve like Fm did. Before
Fm, Am was king and we still lived in a world with 8 tracks. 45's,

horizon. Technologies are advancing faster than most of us can keep up.. The
internet and wireless connections have touched just about every industry.
Radio, the music industry, and other mass media's are more vulnerable
because their content is easily created. And because of technology, some
dude in his basement can create radio shows and broadcast to cars through
the air like radio via a wireless internet connection. Podcast's and music
can also be created. You don't need a tower anymore to be a broadcaster and
you don't radio or a recorded label to be a rock star.

OH MY GOD HERE WE GO AGAIN! ,,,,
Available in Europe soon. Can the US be far behind?
And no, it doesn't require WiFi or WiMax.

As CNet's Brian Cooley says, BMW is "the first car company to embrace a
factory-optional Internet connection."
As one correspondent noted to me, imagine if BMW owners could have their own
branded internet radio station with format choices. BMW rocks, Jazz on BMW,
BMW plays the classics.
When your brand is BMW you certainly don't need Clear Channel.
Not unless you want Ryan Seacrest, and Clear Channel is the only way to get
him.

John Hogan, dump Clear Channel to any sucker who can still pass a credit
check And for the CC Clones. Cox, Emmis, Citadel and want to be's. Its time
to sell radio while they still make suckers. It's over boys..and time to
pack the golden parachutes. Screw the employees...Oh I'm sorry.. I forgot
you already did. Hey have you thought of running a mortgage company? I hear
you can screw customers, kill an industry..and get huge bonuses..I think all
of you are qualified and perfect for the job.. It's great work if you can
find it..

What the scumbags at iBiquity, and especially the JB didn't count on,
was that there are now a zillion competing technologies, versus 35
years ago for analog FM. Major-radio stocks are down 90%, CC is down
2/3 and stopping all investments in the future and dumping HD Format
Lab streams, due to lack of interest:

"CLEAR CHANNEL PULLS THE PLUG ON SOME HD RADIO STATIONS"

"After conducting a survey of 340 HD2 stations to determine their
programming needs, the folks at Clear Channel have dumped a number of
their HD 'Format Lab' stations due to a lack of demand."

"Clear Channel's murky future"

"Sad because eliminating new hires (including sellers), failing to
replace those who leave, stopping all investment in the future, and
halting all advertising and research is the equivalent of saying that
necessity requires us to strangle the goose that lays the golden eggs,
even as the goose is up for sale."

HD Radio is a dinosaur.
