How long before the Shrub and his daddy pressure the VOA and Radio
Free Asia to cease broadcasting into Tibet? Certainly they do not want
to offend their bosom buddies - the communist ruling elite in China.
The Bush crime family goes way back with their friends in Red China.
Something about opium I am told.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States said Monday it would increase
radio broadcasts to Tibet as China clamped down on media coverage of
the bloody protests in the Himalayan territory.

"The violent crackdown by Chinese authorities in Tibet compels us to
increase our broadcasts," said James Glassman, chairman of the
Broadcasting Board of Governors.

The board is an independent federal agency which supervises all US
government-supported, non-military international broadcasting,
including the Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Free Asia (RFA).

At present RFA broadcasts eight hours daily to Tibet via shortwave
radio. VOA broadcasts four hours daily, also via shortwave.

Each will expand radio programs by two additional hours daily, the
broadcasting board said in a statement.

VOA also will double its weekly Tibetan-language television
programming from one to two hours via the AsiaSat 3 satellite.

"Our audience clearly will benefit from these trustworthy sources of
news and information, which differ sharply from Chinese government
sanctioned broadcasts," Glassman said.

RFA's Tibetan service "is working around the clock to bring
authoritative, breaking news to the Tibetan people," RFA President
Libby Liu said.

"These additional hours will greatly enhance our capacity to deliver
this news, including live updates, to people on the ground," she said.

At least 10 reporters from Hong Kong were expelled Monday from Tibet
on the heels of China's worst crackdown in Tibet in years.

China is facing mounting global pressure amid exiles' claims that
hundreds of people may have died in the crackdown even though Beijing
denied using deadly force.

Foreign journalists in China have also demanded that the government
allow access to report on the events in Tibet.

With Tibet's media tightly controlled, VOA and RFA are key sources of
information in a society where word of mouth is the top way to share
news, the broadcasting board said.

Thats another nice article. Maybe its time for the Americans and Europeans
to boycott that farce called the Summer Olympics. Why should we support the
Olympics in a totalitarian outcast state such as Communist China. Where the
people work under slave labor conditions, extreme poverty, and totalitarian
rule.

Because American Industry wants it that way. China provides slave
labour, with the bonus of NO pollution controls. It's a capitalist pig's
dream come true.

The 'Marxists' also charge less corporate tax, thus increasing the profits.

Don't like it? Stop shopping at Wal-Mart. I hear they are having a
special on Real Tibetian Monk Skin this week.

Better watch it now. Dx Douche will be pretty soon accusing you of being a
commie Canadian even though you didn't support Communist China. I agree
about the Wal Mart. But it tends to be nearly every decent sized retail
outfit that gets their junk from Red China. Whether its Wal Mart, K Mart,
Target, Sears, Penneys, Dillards, etc, etc etc. I guess we could all shop at
the Made in the USA sites such as the companies still here. That probably
going to be our only choice pretty soon since Chinese junk will probably be
going up in price vastly with the depreciation of the dollar. Not to say it
isn't warranted through having a Federal Reserve system which debases the
true US currency. Or as one could call it Fake Reserve Notes.

No foolin'...and therein lies the reason of why this country is in such
bad economic shape. A -large- portion of our manufacturing base has gone
overseas to China (slave labor wages, no pollution controls, etc). This
country may already have gone past the 'tipping point' -- as in too late
to bring back good paying jobs to this country (no matter what that
moron Romney said).

Please enjoy your new, lower standard of living. Oh, and try not to
worry too much about the tainted food or pharmaceuticals. Pay no
attention to the lead in your children's toys. Please ignore the Chinese
made CFLs (bulbs) with the counterfeit UL labels that are burning down
your house. Just so we get it cheap...

I completely forgot about His Highness. Please forgive me, it was a
very, very easy thing to do.

On the bright side, his vision won't be getting unblurred by sobriety
until late tomorrow morning, so I feel relatively comfortable.
