Actually, I paid a total of $97.00. I got a copy of the bill or

covered.

And I am excited too!

Something is way wrong here.
It will be interesting to see how this thread continues.
What's the old adage?
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
.

Sanjaya,
I hope I get what it says. Believe me, I will post here the day I
get it.
Remember, it said it is new. It did not say it works!!!! (Now I
am getting worried...)

Did you pay with PayPal?

Does Amazon backup what goes on there?

I hope this works well for you.

Burr,
Actually, I did an online bank check. Maybe it's stolen... (Yikes)
Will I be able to pick up SW signals behind prison walls??
I never seem to have any breaks in life. I hope this is one time I
can have something good happen for me.

Thanks, buddies,

WINDOM-IZE-IT
Make it an Off-Center-Fed Dipole with the Feed-Point
at the 38%-to-62% Mark from the Right Side :
8 Foot Feed-Point Mark = 3 Feet 1 Inch
10 Foot Feed-Point Mark = 3 Feet 10 Inches
12 Foot Feed-Point Mark = 4 Feet 7 Inches
15 Foot Feed-Point Mark = 5 Feet 8 Inches

The Vertical Down-Lead can be 6~8 Feet and should
be Twisted to give a Turn every 3~4 Inches.

For the Sangean ATS-909 Radio the Radio End of the
Twin-Lead needs to be connected to a 1/8" Stereo Plug.

Question - How Do I Hook-Up an External Antenna
to the Sangean ATS-909 Radio ?

- The ATS-909, AKA the Radio Shack DX-398, should provide
- tons of enjoyment. FWIW, here are some suggestions:
-
- 1. Use the windup antenna for extra sensitivity. Some critics have
- suggested that the 909/398 is not that sensitive. But, my experience
- is that 25' of even internal wire makes the radio as sensitive as
the
- best of current portables. The radio also handles external antennas
- better than most portables.
- 2. Consider the sensitivity mod that can be found among the files of
- the DX398 Yahoo group. I had a 909 with that mod and it may have
been
- one of the most sensitive portables I've ever owned. I sold the 909
- and kept an un-modded 398. I sure wish I hadn't done that.
- 3. Consider buying 8 rechargeable AA batteries and a recharger. If
the
- 909/398 has a major weakness, it relates to how it devours
batteries.
-
- Enjoy!

Amazon does backup what goes on there.
If you don't get what you order, your account
has a place to file a claim, after the paperwork
is done Amazon reimburses you. I had to do
this once and Amazon took care of it easily.

Didn't Radio Scrap close out their DX-398 for around $100? It's the equivalent
of the Sangean ATS-909.

I picked one up several years ago at close out, but returned it within a month
as I didn't think it was very sensitive.

DX Ace,

The Sangean ATS-909 AM/Fm Shortwave Radio is usually rate
as being 'not-to-sensitive' Off-the-Whip Antenna -but- Working
very well with an fairly good size External Long Wire Antenna.
