Good. Too many people with 100 percent positive feedback were afraid to
complain, for fear of revenge. A few sellers did just that, out of spite.

Now, it's up to the customers to be honest in their ratings and to have
a bit of understanding.

Mike, it's called the "radio mart effect". by the way, starting
next month, you may only buy by paypal in Oz. i guess the Aussies
are the test bed for this. and, they don't like it one bit. i
believe paypal cost the seller 3 or 4%.

Don't do that.

Being wrapped in purple drapes and advertised as 'professionally
cleaned' after being found wandering at an estate sale does NOT sound
appealing....

Mind you, I *AM* a good specimen and not being made any more!

Why even bother with ebay in the first place, just drop an ad on
craigslist, the parties meet, examine the goods. count the cash, and
everyone leaves satisfied.
Keep playing the sight unseen game long enough and you'll come to know
what I'm on about.
If I had the kind of faith it takes to play ebay, I'd probably start
going to church.

Craigslist is now partly owned by ebay, and you can look for them to dip
their fingers into the ads soon.

Written by an urban dweller no doubt; anyone not in a large metro
area cannot expect to make a market that way and with fuel prices
so high it doesn't pay to travel for most transactions.

Many items you might want to buy are not available in one's own city or
region. I've bought several thousand Broadcasting Magazines, Broadcasting
Yearbooks, Radex's and Whites on eBay and not one was available closer than
about 500 miles away.

And Paypal easily makes up for the fees with higher average selling prices.
People that don't take Paypal are losing money, not avoiding costs.
