Eduardo – have you ever seen a Sony FM/AM Walkman model SRF-59?

This little Sony can be bought for less that $15, has super
performance in both AM and FM modes, has excellent audio and
sensitivity and works for days on a single AA battery. And, if you
loose it or it gets stolen you’re out nothing. You just buy another
one

Now, that’s cool.

Now tell me again about how neat "HD" radio is?

The SRF-59 is a superb high performance radio for it's price - there
is a specific ULTRALIGHT group that specialises in these little
radio's. Astonishing results on MW DX. My pick of the litter for these
little radio's though is the Eton E100.

My first Sony tv set (I still have that little Sony tv set here.It wont
pick up a picture anymore though, only a thin/narrow horizontal stripe
of light across the middle of the picture tube) is one that I bought at
a pawn shop in Killeen,Texas (next door to Fort Hood) in 1965 when I was
at Fort Hood,Texas. The tv set came with the carrying case that looks
just like a ladies little vanity little suitcase thingy and an antenna
for slipping on the top edge of an auto door window glass and an adapter
for plugging into an auto cigarette lighter.I used to hang the little tv
set with a coathanger wire from the top bunk in our baracks at Fort Hood
night times and watch tv.

I have the excellent $10 Sony ICF-S10MK2 pocket-radio, that will go
about 200 hours on two AA batteries. The new HD chipsets have a
battery life of 2 hours, and comes with iBiquity's HD chipset fees!

I've got a pair of Toshiba portable FM-only pocket sets. About twice
the size of a postage stamp. Run on single AAA's. Excellent stereo
reception into a pair of Sennheiser phones.

Then, again, I've also got a Delphi MYFI XM that will go several
hours on a lithium battery.

No iBiquity crap, there, either.
