Obama is one of the most openminded and relentless seekers of truth among us. His writings at Harvard and his book "The Audacity of Hope" and the way he managed his successful political campaign against the bigots and the Clinton machine, his selection of Biden for VP, , certify him as unusually qualitfied to be president of the USA and a world leader. It is unarguably, that simple. Palin is irrelevant.... and so is McCain, Obama and Biden. The issue is... do you want the USA to be conservative in the hatefull sense or liberal, in the "we are our brothers keepers" sense? Do you want a theocracy or separation of church and state? Do you want privacy and security or domestic spying and extortion? Do you want an alternative energy economy and the 3MM new USA jobs it creates or support tax breaks and the ruse of expanded domestic oil dirlling and it's depletion of our security, wealth and jobs? Do you want tax breaks for the rich AND the funneling of government hotchecks to Republican cronies? Do you want trickle down economics or do you want a strong labor movement? Do you want excellent, cost effective healthcare or do you want the private insurance industry to take 30% off the top and dictate what services you will get? The big lies: medical saving accouts are good for you and America . The big truth..60% of the medical profession want a single payer government run system rather than an insurance company run system!! The other big lie delivered by all Republicans: IT IS NOT ABOUT SEEING THE DOCTOR OF YOUR CHOICE!! This election should not be presented as about race, McCain, Obama, or the Democrats. It is about a Republican Party that has morphed to no social redeeming value, a party now steeped in propaganda and rmisinformation unbridled greed censorship militarism deficits bribery extortion retribution theocracy racism corporatism imperialism cronyism incompetence There in lie all the Republicans. That is why in the last eight years, with Tom DeLay's help ALL the Republicans in the Congress and Senate voted with G W Bush 90+% of the time except Ron Paul.. who is not an official Republican thus he is excluded from their convention and policy boards. On religion-what do we have to do to universalize in the populace .....a vibrant penchant to seek knowledge and truth? You don't..... Apparently it's inherent.... from Albert Lea to Crawford; from Beirut to Tehran. That's why the religious right ....Islamic to Fundamentalist Christian,,from Judaism to Catholicism....have the followers they do. And the super rich rise above the lemmings. Smiling, and gloating they quietly go about increasing their wealth and enjoying their power over people and commerce. Knowing that religion is primarily for controlling the masses....and the gullible needing a crutch. So...how do you counter the purveyors of truth...the religious right...their underlying methods and precepts generating hate, bigotry, intolerance...the encouragement of war and killing literally and figuratively for.......god? And that boys and girls...pretty much summarizes the "evil" and destructiveness of organized religion. Anytime a preacher speaks against someone's personal behavior, the sins of the bible, Koran, Quran.... walk out. Carl, vary nicely put. and i agree with everything you say. but, now you must prepare for the hate, lies, and innuendo from the sheeple, kool-ade drinkers, and the ones who listen to the hate mungers on talk radio. some people never wake-up. their defense is shoot the messenger. they can't think for themselves. just look what they did for the bush crime family. voting them in once wasn't enough, they just had to go for the second 4 years. i guess the damage from the first 4 was just not enough for them. it will take too many years for my country to come back to where it once was. all neo-cons and their followers should be hung. thank you for your voice of reason. If you want Marxism, then Obama is your boy. |
