Liberty Passing Away? Bad Feelings About This!

What has happened to America? What does this mean for those people
around the world that are friends of Freedom and look to the U.S. to
help build a Free world?

It means very little. Its just an election, ya know? Its not the end of
the world.

I remember everyone feeling good and progressive and happy and relieved when
we elected Carter in 1976. Yes I voted for Carter. 4 years later we were
only too happy to get rid of him. Say what you like about Reagan, but he
was the right person at the right time. Yes I voted for Reagan.

Not that any of this has anything to do with today. The point is just that
it is far too early to know anything. Right now everyone feels good and
progressive and happy and relieved. Obama could turn out like Carter
(complete disaster), or he could turn out like Reagan (right man at the
right time).

As always, time will tell. Everyone just needs to friggin chill out and
relax a bit. The election is FINALLY over. Let's get on with our lives.

I know what you mean. As a Canadian, I liked Reagan. As you say, the
right man person at the right time. Same with Margaret Thatcher, (the
Iron Lady) the Prime Minister of England, who was a good friend of
President Reagan.
The two of them together changed the world at the time.

We'll see what happens with Obama as President. But I'm not very
optimistic, having read about his past, and the people surrounding him
over the years.

Yep. Both were strong leaders who knew what they wanted to do, and did it!
Together they pretty much defined the 80s, politically.

All we can do is wait and see what happens. I wouldn't believe anything I
read about him up to this point. He has been campaigning. During the
campaign, you say whatever it takes to get elected, and your opponents are
saying whatever it takes to get you defeated. Lots of distortions and
outright lies on both sides.

Everybody relax, have a beer or 9, and chill out. :-)
