SONY RADIO

I'd read about the SONY radio here
several months ago. ( ICF-S10MK2 )

It's an AM-FM pocket radio,
sells at the SONY site for about $13.
When I bought it, shipping was free.

It must be a "next generation" radio.
Tuning, sensitivity, selectivity are excellent.
I live in southern Arizona, and on any given night,
I listen to San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, etc.

I can't vouch for FM.... we only have 3 FM stations in the area.

I often fall asleep with the radio "on",
yet I'm still waiting to replace the batteries.

If you're looking for a good radio value,
look at the new SONY. You'll be surprised.

If you're talking about KGO (810) KSL (1160) or KOKC (1520) those
powerhouse clear channels come in fine almost anywhere. Out in the
desert of southern Arizona with few stations available, any radio would
appear to exhibit good selectivity. Take it with you next summer when it
gets so hot you zonies all head for the SoCal beaches.

I'm about to get an SRF-59. BCB DXers are using them and raving about them,
calling it "ultralight DXing." The SRF-59 does tune all the way to 1700
kHz.

Hey RHF, I think I have seen a site that a guy talks about modding
that particular piece out a little. I used to have that site saved but
I don't have it anymore. Kind of like the Lowbander of the 394 and
everyone (six-seven people I think) really noticed a difference or so
they said. I really don't know how much more you could jack that up
for performance though or if you would even want to. {?}
