I am 398 miles as the crow flies to Cincinnati.
The WLW station was weaker with WOR in New York trying to blow it out.
But I was using a 14 dollar AM handheld that has no filters but
apparently as an excellent AM antenna.

That's killer. Thanks for your logs. I really do appreciate them and
seeings how your QTH is S.Carolina it's neat to see what you can do
there. Do you have any other equipment for BCB dxing?

Not right now, I'm going to probably get a Grundig G6 this Wednesday
from Radio Shack. I really would like the Grundig S350 except I want
sideband and longwave (SB to listen to the Hams and pirates, LW just
to listen for Morse beacons. I also like the small size of the G6....
If I really get into Dxing and shortwave, I'll try to see if I can
pick up a table model at the flea market on the cheap.

What is interesting is that I tried to AM DX last night using a few
other portables, and the Radio Shack I was using just blows them out
of the water. If I weren't afraid of breaking the radio, I would take
it apart to see how this antenna is set up for AM. The RS model even
picks up the LYQ beacon on 529khz better then the car radio. I've also
discovered the RS AM radio is very directional.....
