Yes, I do plan on upgrading my equipment after the holidays. I've seen several on Universal Radio I would like to get. And don't worry, I'm not going to let a few bored trolls ruin the fun for me. Thanks much. |

I should add that I want the extra antenna to be able to pick up
longwave also. I haven't picked up a single beacon or anything else on LW with the G6. Just two tones but nothing else. I do live 35 miles as the crow flies to the nearest real aiport here. And I'll add, compared to my PRO-95 scanner which picks up airband and picks it up well, the G6 has been crap there. All sorts of FM signal images are in the band making it hard to scan through. Putting a squelch control into the G6 could be a godsend for us who like to listen to air traffic by sitting on a few channels. Right how, I would say the G6 is useless for airband scanning. |

You may want to check out this link. It compares the Terk to the Select-a-Antenna. Actually I was going to tell you to spend the extra ten dollars- fifteen for the SAT but after reading this I wouldn't bother. Pretty informative write up on a direct comparison between the two antennas IMO. http://www.radiointel.com/review-2loop.htm |

Hey- I will add this also. I was wanting to put together again what I call my "fun car/truck".....something that is just mine and the wife wouldn't care what I looked like driving down the road. In my old fun car- it was either a 83-84 Olds Firenza that I basically stole at auction for like $400. I painted it black and darkened the windows a little and had six antennas hanging off that thing. It was fun going to the junk yards and pillaging them for the "just AM" radios. I tried three different kinds till I settled on a simple Delco that was badass as far as the BCB. Two 1/2" ground plates, one welded to the frame in the front and one to the frame by the truck. Those were the days! I loved that car. Three scanners/CB with a small modulator box/ AM radio/ shortwave. I remember cruising down the highway and heard this one driver tell another "Hey look at this little black car coming up in the hammer lane- that moth**fuc**r is wired for sound." That cracked me up. sigh |
