More Dec 18 Morning Logs
Polish Radio, via Wertachtel, Germany on 9450 at 1315 UTC in English,
sio-343. YL w/ “Polish Radio” ID at 1315, into interviews with children describing Polish Christmas traditions. Hard to understand thanks to local TV interference. (Sony ICF-6800W Orange, Bryant – Louisville, KY, Dec. 18) Voice of Korea, Kujang, North Korea on 9335 at 1325 in English, sio-333 in local RFI. Heavily-accented M w/ slow story of Korean history. Many references to the “Great One”. M w/ VoK ID before the bottom of the hour. Signal was pretty strong, but audio often hard to understand w/ low modulation and high noise floor. (Sony ICF-6800W Orange, Bryant – Louisville, KY, Dec 18) All India Radio, Bangalore, India on 9870 at 1340 in Hindi, sio-454. This is the domestic “Vividh Bharati (Entertainment Network) w/ some of the best daily doses of subcontinental music (definitely an acquired taste…). M anncr between songs, and it sure sounds like advertising between some of the songs. Blasting in this morning. (Sony ICF-6800W Orange, Bryant – Louisville, KY, Dec. 18) All India Radio, Panaji, India on 9820 at 1350 in S Asian lang, listed Sinhalese, sio-343. Different syle of subcontinental mx, more group vocal chanting, YL anncr, no clear ID, so mark this tentative. I think I’ll try to check this out a few more mornings during my vacation. Fair and fading fast. (Sony ICF-6800W Orange, Bryant – Louisville, KY, Dec. 18) All India Radio, Bangalore, India on 9690 at 1405 in EE, sio-232. Subcontinental vocals, caused me to stop and listen, Kind of surprised when a YL identified as “All India Radio” in English. Being broadcast to SE Asia. Weak, but that subcont mx cuts right through the noise! (Sony ICF-6800W Orange, Bryant – Louisville, KY, Dec. 18) |
