Actually, most of my posts (like the majority of all posts) don't get
any stars at all. (Though my log reports often receive 20 or 30 five-
star evaluations.) But in the same threads, your posts attract an
incredible number of single stars. Most people reserve those single
stars to highlight what they consider to be a bad post. I think that's
indicative that a lot of folks have a fairly low opinion of your
attempted insults.

I can understand why you ridicule public efforts to evaluate your
contributions to this newsgroup. Most of your posts are meaningless.

Your onetime claim to having a PhD was pretty meaningless as well, right, PhDufus?

And, as always, don't let your children attend Louisville Technical Institute.
They've hired at least one dufus who once claimed to have a PhD, and who knows, there may
be more.

Mike, bringing up a Google group star rating for Usenet posts is a
totally dumb thing to do.

You and others use google to post on Usenet but google is just a portal
to it. Google also has it own "Google groups", which belong to google as
do the "star ratings" of its users. The interface apparently does not
distinguish between Usenet and "Google groups" hence the confusion of
its users. Bad google.

Be aware that many people on Usenet block posts from google.

I'd spend the money for what some call a "real" newsgroup reader, but
I like it now, I don't know why some people don't like. It has all the
groups that I frequent. What do you use Telamon...and Steve
also...what newsreader do you use?

I'm using whatever is on Netscape, not sure if it has a name?
I can also use whatever is included in Internet Explorer, but don't care much
for that.

If you had a real usent reader you could turn on the "Headers" and see
all kinds of detail regarding a poster's computer, operating system,
newsreader software, i.p. address, etc.

Here's the cool version:

I know that Dave, I don't mean this bad to you or anything, but I
don't care what kind of computer you're using or you're operating
system/IP addy etc.

Bottom line (I think) is that I can read everything you can on this.
FWIW- now, if I couldn't read THIS group, then I would switch over.
But this is just fine for me. How much do you pay for your newsreader,
just curious, and what else can you see....other than what you
stated...that I can't?

I use Mozilla Thunderbird on my desktop computers and Pan on my
uber-portable netbooks. Both applications are free.

The ability to block messages by author or subject leaps out as a major
feature. Pan will download multipart binaries and stich them together
automatically.

Google Groups is very very slow and klunky. HTML for Usenet content is
way overkill.
