IBOC is off in Chicago.

Both WLUP-1000 and WSCR-670 are now IBOC-less. The battle is being won
against needless QRM and digital AM that nobody wants.

"CPB/NPR to Fit Square HD Peg Into Round Hole"

"First, National Public Radio (through the CPB) has already
extensively studied this issue, more than anyone else in the industry,
and the results are pretty unequivocal that increasing the power of a
station's FM digital signal will adversely affect not only its own
analog host-signal, but also those of neighboring stations. So much
so, in fact, that the (first) study's coordinating engineer has
admitted in other fora that an increase in HD sideband power levels is
much more likely to do harm than good."

NPR appears to be against the FM-HD power increase, but rumors are
that NPR and iNiquity have come to a compromise. Currently, FM-HD jams
adjacents, but this will probably trash analog FM. iNiquity's plan is
to try and force digital adoption by trashing analog. Why the ****
isn't anyone stopping the FCC?

It's 107 miles to Chicago, we have a half a pack of cigarettes and a
full tank of gas.
