Not quite right. UV is a higher frequency than visible light and X-ray are a higher frequency than UV. Low to high frequency is infra red (radiated heat), visible light, UV, X-rays. I was agreeing that sunspots are cooler regions. |

The theory is that when the magnetic lines of force get tangled at a spot on the suns surface it impedes the flow of material from the inner sun to the surface causing the area to be cooler by about 1000 to 2000 degrees kelvin. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
