The old Hotel Heidleburg used to have dining and dancing on the roof.

One time, a German POW slipped out of the German POW camp in Clinton.He
went downtown to the Hotel Heidleburg and he wrote a letter to the
Governor about how nice himself and the other German POWs were being
treated in that German POW camp, then he slipped back into the German
POW camp.
