He's not. Not even close.


Well, for a Harvard professor (black, white or otherwise), he certainly
doesn't appear to be the brightest bulb in the box.

Mr. Gates angrily said "He [the cop] followed me into the kitchen
without my permission".

Um, Mr. Gates, here are at least two possible scenarios:

The cop could have felt you were going into the kitchen to get a weapon,
or...

The cop was there on a 9-1-1 run that said TWO men were breaking into
the house. One (or two) men could have been waiting in the kitchen and
turned it into a hostage situation.

So, the cop, operating with the information he had AT THE MOMENT, was no
way going to let you in the kitchen alone. Simple Police Procedures 101.

The cop was Right.He didn't neeeeed any steenkin permission to follow
Gates!
