R. Kuwait on 7150 from 0200z
 

Heard these guys chanting last night about 0230z pretty well in
California on my SX-190 (from AOKI - 14 April update):

7150 R.KUWAIT 0200-0900 1234567 Arabic 100 kW Non-Directional
Sulaibiyah

They were about SINPO = 32433; only real obstacle was ham QRM, no
surprise there; audio excellent, very modest fluttery fading. If I
spoke Arabic, would have been an easy QSL copy.

I mention it because EIBI does not have this on their latest update
(12 April) just yet.

R.Kuwait once dominated the shortwave in the ME in signal strength. I
think they used to have 250 or 500KW senders. Definetely was wiped out
in 1991.

Even in 2005, they were still running 500 kW - their signal was potent
every where I heard them. I had no idea they reduced to 100 kW,
although if their target is just the ME I'm sure that's adequate.

Good site, useful comps, but you still are not showing R. Kuwait on
7150, even tho Aoki lists it.

They must be trying to save on the electricity bills- rates have
really gone up since the early nineties!

You can sometimes hear them on 1520 BCB, they are running 500kw there. *I
picked them up in South Florida, one mile from the ocean.

Lucky! MW overseas reception is pretty rough hereabouts in SF Bay
Area, CA - too many blowtorches in a 3-mile radius.
