Just saw a post that indicated that all 266 QSL's for Radio St. Helena Day
2009 have been mailed.

I certainly would have thought that there would have been more reports sent.

In checking the sked for the RMS St. Helena, it departed St. Helena on the 11th,
arriving in Cape Town today, the 16th. So, I'm guessing that the QSL's will
depart via air from Cape Town sometime in the next day or so.

Hmmm...do you think what you posted above contains any message about the
future of short wave listening?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Joe!

LOL!

I would think that your post would suggest more about the ****
poor propagation lately, although it does appear to be improving,
than it does the future of SW.

How many QSL's went out last year?

I think this is the first time I recall seeing a figure. The 266 may actually be
'normal'.

Maybe 'yes', maybe 'no', but certainly a fair question that deserved to
be asked, based on Lare's implication.

It may well be 'normal', but I was addressing your -original- statement:

I certainly would have thought that there would have been more
reports sent.

If you thought it was 'normal', why did you make that comment, hmmm?

Mine was a legitimate question, based on YOUR original comment. You, by
virtue of the comment you made, were strongly implying that the figure
WAS low.

The status of the future of the hobby certainly is a legitimate topic
for this forum. Try not to be so sensitive...and try to answer
legitimate questions without so much tap-dancing, weaving and dodging.

If your 'cutesy' answer was based on trying out for being a stand-up
comic, my advice is don't give up your day job. ;-)

better luck this year. see below.

Drifter...

I went to heroic efforts in 2009, but I never detected anything here
in northern California near San Jose. In previous years, I was able
to hear something under more handicapped conditions.
