wire and a plastic junction box and I can make one a heck of a lot

Are you trying to build a Wellbrook Loop? I don't doubt they are
patented.

Sounds right. And, like I said, with a MMIC device, the performance of
that amp can easily be matched, and I would expect, exceeded --
depending on the device chosen the filters used, etc.
