But, Mississipi river basin has (historically) been the most
devastated place in the country . We should worry about New Madrid
Fault Line more than the North East Coast (Ramapo) vibrations . I
hope .

There is no seismic hazard for New York.

There's a small one.

None. There are things happening underground but they are not tectonic.

I have some old Apple and Machintosh computers (some other different
brand names computers too) here, I reckon at least a dozen old
computers.
I am sort of kind of looking for a Mac mini with HDMI output port.As
reccomended by Ken Dine in one of the WebTV computer discussion
newsgroups.
Group: alt.discuss.computers
(you have to use a WebTV box to get there)
Yeah, if somebody has a Good working Mac mini for sale at a 'Good
price'?, Good to me anyway.

One cannot predict such events with any precision ... Look what
happened in Haiti last year . And that place was seismically quiet for
250 years !

No. Haiti is on a very active fault that has huge earthquakes a lot.

"Despite recent seismic quiescence, Haiti has suffered similar
devastating earthquakes in the historical past (1701, 1751, 1770 and
1860). Despite this knowledge of historical seismicity, Haiti had no
seismograph stations during the main earthquake, so it is impossible to
estimate accurately the intensity of ground motions. Nonetheless, the
wide range of buildings damaged by the January 12, 2010, earthquake
suggests that the ground motions contained seismic energy over a wide
range of frequencies. Another earthquake of similar magnitude could
strike at any time on the eastern end of the Enriquillo Fault, directly
to the south of Port-au-Prince. Reconstruction must take this hazard
into account."

Port-au-Prince was not hit so badly since 1751 . The other parts of
the island is a different story.
