put
forward to fool them into thinking they're getting more daylight when all
it actually is doing is making them get out of and go back to bed 1 hour
earlier than they would be doing otherwise.

Clearly You have Not Lived {Existed} With Out Electricity :
Spend a Summer in a Cabin with Water Piped in from Up
Stream; and only Wood Fire at Night to warm you and
Cook-on. . . circa late 1950s

And presumably no clocks either so how exactly does that relate to DST?

Also any particular reason for the capitalisation of every word or have
you just messed up your editor?

May be he is being influenced by the Old German Grammar ?

This is what they did in the former USSR. *Also, there were times when the
U.S. was on DST continuously. *Once was during the Ford administration I
believe. *It had something to do with saving fuel or some such nonsense.

I hear that this was also done here in the UK during the war. Something
to do with with keeping the factories open longer I believe.

Surprised they didn't continue. In WW I to feed the troops, brewers
had to cut the amount of grain used per pint, and British beer has
been low alcohol ever since.

That may partially explain their "unusual behavior" while attending
soccer matches on the Continent .

Sure, but if someone wanted to live such a bucolic existent getting
away from it all and living off the land to the rhythms of nature why
would they care about the time enough to bother with a clock?

A pistol to the head will get you there quick.

Aren't we morbid today!

A cry for help? Nah. A rejection of escapism. I was rude.

The two words have a common origin : Clock and Glock . Meaning just a
bell .

Some hands/pointers glow in the dark . May be they still have that
radium or phosphorus paint on them . New watches use tritium . Just
wonder how long this will be allowed untill found to be hazardous as
well ...
