It started as a Radio Shack "TRF" didn't it?
 

My G.E.P780-E radio.What likely is the reason it won't turn on? When I
brought it home from the Goodwill store, I put fresh batteries in it, it
wont say anything at all, nothing but dead silence, the dial light wont
light up either.I know the battery contacs inside of the radio are clean
and in good condition.The radio is in Good physical and cosmetic
condition, I think so anyway.It is a heavy radio.
