T'aint no tellin what you might find in those thrift stores out there.
How about a 1957 Grundig AM/FM/Shortwave/Phonograph floor model wooden cabinet radio? How about a 1960s Telefunken Opus AM/FM'Shortwave wooden cabinet table top radio? Both of them were made in Germany. I bought those radios at the Goodwill store that used to be on Palmyra Street in down town Jackson,Missy Sippy.I paid $14.00 (Fourteen Dollars) for my Grundig radio, I paid $4.00 (Four Dollars) for my Telefunken Opus radio. Both of those radios I bought on the same day at that Goodwill store.I reckon I have over 300 (over Three Hundred) old radios I bought at the thrift stores around here.A few old collectible TV sets too. cuhulin |

It is a form of false advertisement, as you are implying by having a mimimum bid that if a buyer bids the minimum, and no one else bids, they can buy the item for that price. Hidden reserve prices say that you really won't accept the minumum bid you advertised, and you aren't even going to tell anyone what it was. IMHO a dishonest seller and should be avoided. Each reserve auction has "RESERVE PRICE NOT YET MET" in big red letters until it has been met. |

It is a "bit of a strange way" to run an auction ... the bidding should be forced to start at a minimum acceptable, and go from there ... I agree, ebay would appear "more" legit if tradition were followed ... but in the scope of the world, it is only a minor transgression. Regards, JS |

It's dishonest because the seller has a minumum you can not find out until you bid and reach it. Plus since the minimum advertised is not the real minimum, it's false advertisement. If the minimum bid is $1, you can't bid $1 and win it. It happened here in Israel with lottery tickets. The state lottery was selling "win a million" scratch off tickets. Someone bought one expecting to be able to win a million and found out that the million had already been won, six weeks before. There was no chance of him winning the million, so he sued for false advertisement and won. Geoff. -- Geoffrey S.
