Andy Griffith has passed away at age 86. Mayberry was one of the few prime time TV shows that displayed true family values borne from a simpler yet much richer time in our recent history. What made it fun to watch, was that it was never preachy. Today's TV laden with insipid story lines, schadenfreude, deceit and questionable morals ( even for our modern age ) is a sad and pathetic roll model for young people just developing a moral compass for their tough journey through life ahead. Not to mention being forced to grow up and lose their innocence way too quickly. Andy Griffith is one of a handfull of TV personalities that was able to do good, and leave a lasting positive footnote in TV history. |
