The US steel industry resisted modernization, preferring instead, to
move all profit into the pockets of the owner class instead of
reinvesting. Once the modernized plants in Europe and Asia came on line
(post war rebuilding!11!!), US companies couldn't compete and Wall
Street moved the money to where positive cash flow was highest. JFK had
damn little to do with it, dumnass.
