Just dropped in to see what's up. I have just about given up SWLing due to a combination of local noise, bad propagation, and station closures (never thought I'd see V of Russia terminating broadcasts). I've decided to start a new direction to my radio hobbying by becoming an Amateur operator. I got my license Saturday and my transceiver is scheduled for delivery tomorrow!
Already studying for the General test, Mike, KK4TSX Louisville, KY |

FCC Registered Radio Licenses in Raymond, Mississippi I don't see his phone number in my phone book. Maybe he uses only a cell phone nowadays. Anyway, I reckon he and his wife are still around. |

When you start getting above 90% routinely start looking for an examiner. Welcome to the show. |

It's disappointing that so many broadcasters seem to be abandoning the shortwave bands to RCI, but radio has other aspects of interest which you can now explore in more detail. I will never ever work HF phone. Too much bull****. I do love me some digimodes on HF. |
